Decision Making Together

It's His Wedding Too

Consider the conversations and decisions you make together at the onset of your wedding will be a key factor in how your both make decisions the rest of your lives.  Yes, the wedding can get caught up in just the bride's desires for color and theme, but The Budget and What You Can Afford Will Determine The Size of the Wedding,  If you wish, ask how your parents can contribute to the celebration funds before you set up your budget.

YOU want your wedding - Not your sisters' brother's or best friends wedding. Choose your theme and services!

Understand you will be looking at venues and meeting vendors/services together...when possible.

Have a once a month meeting...or phone meeting to discuss concerns and finalize decisions on services.

Wedding Links suggests you look to one another's talents, schedules and organizational skills  ... and give yourselves a year and if coming into a popular wedding area consider a year and a half head start.

It is vital you use the INTERVIEW  QUESTIONS below as you contract a venue, and hire your vendor services.

In order to save money.....do not hire friends .....unless you ask the same questions and sign a contract with them also.

The Following Are The Basic Questions For All Venues and Services - Look at their websites, Meet them at Bridal Shows, Review their references and then choose 3 or 4 to interview. Most will hold the date open for a few weeks while you decide. Call each back about your decision.

 1. Is the Venue or Service Available on our chosen date? Many venues ask that you use their services.

Some ask for a temporary  booking deposit that will be refunded if you change your mind on the venue/service......ASK:  Will you call me if someone else is asking for the same date.

2. Do you have a back-up service if you are ill or there is a problem?

3. What are your complete charges and ask for a quote, and a reviewed and signed contract

4. When you hire/contract, please call your service ten days out from your wedding.

5. With a venue, please be specific about the space/room you are booking in your contract and hold them to it.

6. Wedding Planners charge a variety of ways: Use only their vendors, by the hour or group of hours (packages). and overtime fees.
